PERSPECTIVE: We all depend upon our ICVFD; so it is vital that we all support our department. We need to do all we can to retain the outstanding volunteer fire fighters we now have, recruit and train additional volunteers, and help our Auxiliary increase community support throughout the ICVFD District. Local, state and federal grants and our contributions are major needs for our ICVFD.

CAREER BACKGROUND: As a Regents Professor Emeritus, University of North Texas (1976 – 2011), my career encompassed teaching/supervising masters and doctoral students preparing to work as licensed professional counselors, school counselors, career counselors and life/career coaches, with research and scholarly interests centered on career development, decision making, ethics, and organizational and disciplinary history. Numerous offices, honors, directorships and chairs in large (50,000+) and small (500+) state and national professional organizations and learned societies; 100 + publications, editing nationally refereed journals, consulting with public and private sector organizations and agencies throughout the United States, and limited experience writing proposals for state and federal grants serve, in part, to recommend me as a candidate for our ICVFD Board. Twenty-six years of active and active reserve service in the U.S. Army, including 3 years company grade command experience, and 10 years field grade command experience primarily in support of elements of the Defense Intelligence Agency, with numerous Army and Defense Department Medals and a long record of public service to local schools and churches since early days as an Eagle Scout, round out qualifications for this board.
