Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department
Barbara Martin
I have been a resident of Lake Kiowa since 2013.

My professional background includes working in the accounting field since I was a teenager. I only did one year of college immediately after high school, but I returned to school as an adult. I graduated in 1998 from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth with a Bachelor of Business Administration. I passed the CPA exam in 1999 on my first attempt.

Since becoming a CPA, I have mainly been employed in public accounting with an emphasis in tax. I still work from home part-time for two different CPA offices. I have also worked as a controller in the oil & gas industry and the freight industry.

Beginning in 2016, I participated in the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program certified by IRS at the Cooke County Library. I served as the local coordinator for three of those years.
I joined the Lake Kiowa Kiwanis Club in 2013. I have been active in our yearly fundraiser and have assisted with several projects at the elementary school. I served as President for their 2016-2017 year.

Serving on the board of the Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department is a way for me to give back to our community.
