Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department
I’m Michael Bonn and I’ve lived in Cooke County since 1974. I worked as an Engineer and Engineer Instructor for BNSF before retiring after 38 years. I bred, raised and trained race horses for thirty years, have held my private pilot’s license for 35 years and enjoy golfing and traveling. I am currently raising commercial meat goats on my acreage in Woodbine.
I believe the following experiences would assist me in serving on this board:
-
38 years as an Engineer and Engineer Instructor with BNSF
-
20 years’ experience as a Union Representative working to negotiate and enforce contracts and mediate disagreements between workers and management
-
Founding member of the Cooke County Civil Air Patrol
-
4 years at Abigail’s Arms as Assistant Operations and Maintenance Manager
-
Past President of Cooke County Experimental Aircraft Association
-
Past Master of Burns City Lodge
Other Interests; metal working, barn building, aircraft interior restoration work, avid researcher of anything that interests me such as the ESD law and the recent election process.
My interest in running for a seat on the board of the ICVFD is to act as an advocate for all fire district members in this large 60 square mile fire district. I would like to work towards making the ICVFD district a community where members come together to support the department and one another in a larger, more accessible facility.
